Scoraíocht Lannléire and Dunleer Mummers latest production for 2016 is the 1916 Commeration Show.

Including the” Big Circle”

The first show was staged in Teach Scoraíocht on Friday April 8th at 7PM.

The group then went on tour to Frongoch in Wales.

Those attending joined in the spirit and dressed somewhat like the fashion of the time 100 years ago.

Scoraíocht 40th celebrations

A great afternoon and evening was had by all at the recent celebrations in the Teach Scoraíocht garden. There were visitors from all over the globe and it was a great chance to catch up over a cup of tea. How great it was to see John Flanagan’s dream go from strength to strength. 40 years a growing and much more to go!

Registration for the music classes was on Friday 5th Sept. at the Teach Scoraiocht . All classes in Flute, Fiddle,Tin Whistle,Bodhran and Guitar are full to capacity. Classes begin on Friday 12th 7PM.

Halloween Night

Plans are underway for a Big Halloween Night on Friday 31st Oct in the Teach with a Halloween Fancy Dress Ceili followed by a Disco with very special guests , see spooky page on this site. There will be lots of prizes, sweets etc on the night. This is all part of our 40th Anniversary Celebrations.

Wednesday Nights Session and Dance Classes

The Wednesday night session is back on Wednesday 10th of September at 8.30pm all musicians and singers are welcome. Also the Sean-Nos dancing classes begin that night also at 7.30pm.

Cross Border Project

Scoraiocht are also looking at a cross border project with the Turas and Dreoilin ( Wren Boys on Tour) before the end of the year. More on that later.

Market House Dunleer

Great to see the new Market House up and running in the Middle of Dunleer Village. The building is suitable for many different uses and will prove very beneficial to the community.

Full Shilling” going great

Local man Liam Reynolds and his group Full Shilling are a regular fixture at the Glyde Inn Annagassan every Friday night.

Liam attracts musicians from far and wide many of whom perform with the band at the venue. He started his music with Scoraiocht Lannleire 40 years ago and  is the resident Bodhran Teacher at the Teach Scoraiocht and is very popular with the all students both young and old. Liam played with many different groups down the years and toured extensively throughout Ireland UK and the USA playing music.

Stephen Callan new CD Launch

Congratulations to  Grangebellew man Stephen Callan on his new CD to be launched soon. Stephen also started his music at Scoraiocht Lannleire and is a traditional singer as well as a country and western man.

Bartle Woods Fiddle Clases

Bartle Woods ( Scoraiocht Fiddle Teacher) has a full compliment of students in his class to begin on Friday 12th at 7 pm.

Bartle is a founder member of Scoraiocht along with John Flanagan and Hugh D Conlon. Hugh also assists at the Friday Night Classes helping Niall McCullough Guitar Teacher.

Music Circles

Hope to have many Music Circles ( Big Sessions) this coming season at the Ceili House giving the families entertainment and photo opportunities for the Press.
